Praise from Writers

“Phil, you have been a joy to work with.”
— Jane Yolen, winner of the Caldecott Medal and many other awards,
and author of Take Joy: A Book for Writers

“Thanks for your brilliant editing – again! Editing is a fine art, and I’m most impressed.”
— Ray Bial, author of more than 100 books for children and adults,
including The Fresh Grave, The Ghost of Honeymoon Creek, and Shadow Island,
a series of humorous ghost stories for middle-grade readers.

“Phil, you are such a treasure. It is so wonderful to find encouragement at every turn.”
— Katharine Sands, author of Making the Perfect Pitch: How To Catch a Literary Agent’s Eye

“Philip Martin, you are a wonderful reader and critic! Your response made for one of the easiest rewrites I’ve ever done. You nailed my assets and story flaws. Flagging the things I had done well gave me assurance that this story was worth working on again. Thanks for all your time and attention and generous heart.”
— Berniece Rabe, author of more than a dozen books for young readers

“Phil Martin is the editor on the white horse that most of us writers only get to dream about.”
– Jeff Herman, author of Jeff Herman’s Guide to Book Publishers, Editors, and Literary Agents
